Dear Clemmie,

So this past weekend was spent in Normandy. We explored Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Utah beach and Pont du Hoc oh and the darling Bayeux. We decided to drive and Ian was such a good sport – like 8 hours to get to Rouen and when we stopped in Reims we were surprised how touristy it was. Do you know I did not see ONE grape vine in France? I kid you not – we drove through Reims and Chalone en Champagne and nothing. Zip. Nada. The only vines en route were in Germany. Go figure. 
Anyway we had a wonderful time but Ian is ready to park the car for a while so this weekend we take the train to Koblenz for a cycling weekend.
