About

Writing is hard.  Where do you begin and what do you say?  If you sit down and say to yourself, “I’m going to write,” then you may as well pack it in for the day, however, if you sit down to write a letter, at least for me, the words and stories flow without impediment.  I can tell you news, explain the provenance of the wine I’ve poured or even move you with a memory or description.  So, when faced with the idea of a blog, I felt if I put it in letter form I may be better off for trying.

But to whom do I write?  I wouldn’t want to offend a friend or loved one, so I chose the most kind hearted and gentle spirit no one could be offended by, our darling Clementine.  In truth, Clemmie wouldn’t hang around long enough to listen to a letter; she’d be off chasing a squirrel or better still, her ball.  But now that our beloved creature has shed her mortal coil I suspect she has more time to listen, and observe her humans, as we muddle through this life, on this small planet and surrounding ourselves with the loved ones still among us.
